Product Designer

Job Description

• Ishiguro Corportion is currently seeking an Product Designer. A Product Designer, or Retail Product Designer, develops and designs a wide variety of consumer products. Their main duties include building designs for new products, adding improvements to existing products and conducting market research for new product design ideas.

• Consulting managers and clients about design requirements.

• Negotiating and agreeing contracts, budgets and time-scales.

• Clarifying and solving design issues.

• Investigating appropriate materials and production processes.

• Roducing sketches and sample designs.

• Testing product designs using models, prototypes, specialist computer software and computer-aided design (CAD) technology.

• Maintaining an awareness of current design trends and influences.

• Liaising with sales, marketing and production departments.

• Correcting product faults. Presenting designs, samples and final work to customers for evaluation

Responsibilities

• Developing product design concepts from client requirements.
• Confirming product design specifications with clients.
• Preparing design specifications through sketches.
• Budgeting for product designs with clients.
• Setting schedules for project completion with clients and adhering to budgets and schedules.
• Troubleshooting any design problems that may arise during the design process needed.
• Well-developed technical and creative skills.
• IT skills, including CAD.
• AA good eye for detail, Commercial awareness, Communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• A minimum of 2 - 5 years of relevant construction experience required.
• Must have an understanding of each craft discipline, the tools of the trade, the job task and methods of executing work.
• Must have an understanding and ability to forecast the craft labor market conditions and how to attract and maintain a direct hire work force.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
